Senior School Curriculum

The Senior School curriculum offers an appealing combination of breadth and depth. Throughout this time our students study subjects both for their own sake as well as preparing them to attain the best possible qualifications.

All students benefit from a common curriculum in Years 7 and 8 which concentrates on the core subjects of Mathematics, English and Science as well as three humanities, three languages, and dedicated lessons in ICT, Design Technology, Music, Art and Drama.

Subject selection involves students and their parents as early as Year 8. Students continue to follow all the core subjects with a measure of choice being introduced. From Year 9 there are four options (with one Language being compulsory). Choices include Latin, Design Technology, Art, Drama and Music.

At GCSE students take a core of English Language, English Literature, Mathematics and three separate Sciences. They then choose four other subjects, one of which must be a Humanity: Geography, History, Religious Studies or Classical Civilisation, and one of which must be a Language: French, German, Spanish or Latin.

Other options at GCSE include: Art, Product Design, Computer Science, Drama, Music and Physical Education.
