Open Events
Come and experience BMS
Our Open Events are designed to help families experience BMS in a way that suits them. From Open Days to Action Mornings and student Taster Days, there are a variety of ways to get to know the School. Open Days are an opportunity to meet students and teachers, hear from senior leaders, explore our facilities and see the breadth of opportunities available at BMS.
For those who would like to experience the School on a typical working day, our Action Mornings offer an insight into daily life. You will see lessons in progress, students engaged in their learning and the school community at its best.
Prospective Junior School and Sixth Form students are also warmly invited to join us for a Taster Day. Spending time in School, meeting future classmates and experiencing lessons first-hand is often one of the best ways to discover whether BMS feels like the right fit.
Whether you choose to attend one event or several, we look forward to welcoming you.
Senior School Open Day

Junior School Taster Days
We are delighted to offer children the opportunity to spend a morning or an afternoon with us and experience a taste of school life here at Bedford Modern Junior School. Children will participate in a variety of lessons and activities designed to let them discover a little more about what it’s like to be a student in the Junior School.
Years 3 and 4 sessions
- Wednesday 14 October and Friday 06 November
- 9.30am to 11.30am
Offered for children currently in Years 2 and 3. Sessions will run from 9.30am to 11.30am on 14 October and 06 November. Please do note, however, that sessions are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
Years 5 and 6 sessions
- Tuesday 13 October and Wednesday 14 October.
- 1.30pm to 3.30pm
Offered for children currently in Years 4 and 5. Sessions will run from 1.30pm to 3.30pm on 13 October and 14 October. Please do note, however, that sessions are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
