The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award is the world’s leading achievement award for young people. We provide a balanced programme of activities that develops the whole person – mind, body and soul – in an environment of social interaction and team working. Young people progress through three levels of DofE programmes to achieve a Bronze, Silver or Gold Award.

Bedford Modern School is a Directly Licenced Centre. This means that the DofE have provided the school with a licence to deliver the DofE on its own premises. The licenced is reviewed every couple of years and shows that Bedford Modern School meets the specific standards of safety, child protection and training.

Benefits

Taking part builds confidence and develops self-esteem. It requires persistence, commitment and has a lasting impact on the attitudes and outlook of all young people who do their DofE.

Participants need to be aged between 14 and 24. DofE is offered to all students in Year 9 and above.
