Family Fun Day 2025
June 2025
Community Spirit Shines at BMSPA Family Fun Day 2025
The Bedford Modern School Parents’ Association (BMSPA) celebrated a resounding success following their Family Fun Day 2025, which brought together students, staff and local families for a day of sun-soaked entertainment. Held at the Woodland Manor Hotel, the thrice sold-out event raised an impressive £1,400 for the School’s fundraising pot.
A Collaborative Community Effort
The event’s success was anchored by the generosity of the BMS community. Owners and BMS parents Neera and Raj Regmi provided the Woodland Manor Hotel venue free of charge, while local farmers Charlie and Laura Tomkins facilitated the large turnout by lending their nearby field for guest parking. The day featured a diverse line up of activities and entertainment:
High Energy Action – SSG Services provided an inflatable obstacle course, climbing wall, and archery, while Woolfy Sport kept children moving with football and tennis.
Special Guests – The Bedfordshire Fire Service and Bedfordshire Police delighted younger attendees by bringing emergency vehicles for exploration.
Artisan Fair – Local craftspeople offered face painting, pottery, and refreshments, showcasing the region’s small businesses.
A Festival of Talent – Music was at the heart of the ‘festival vibe’, featuring a mix of professional and student talent. Highlights included performances from the BMS Music students and young singer Rohan Regmi. A powerful set was also delivered by professional soprano and BMS parent Carolyn Sampson. We were delighted to be entertained by five-piece band Kaleidos and also the Bedford Modern Singers adult choir.
The BMSPA expressed deep gratitude to the army of volunteers and school staff who attended.
Summer Ball 2026
February 2026
The BMS Parents’ Association has historically organised a Parents Ball and under the current committee, this prestigious event occurs biennially. The last ball was held in Summer 2024, at The Marquee, Kempston Hardwick, and it certainly was a night to remember! With a fantastic live performance from band The VIPs, casino tables, and dancing ’til late, the atmosphere was electric – we cannot wait to bring you another BIG event, this summer 2026!
This highly anticipated event will be held on Saturday 06 June, at The Marquee and promises to be an event you do not want to miss! The theme for ’26 is Cocktails and Dreams… think sophisticated glamour, classy, cool, and cocktails galore! We will be welcoming back The VIPs who will have everyone up and dancing until the very last beat!
These tickets are the HOTTEST in town! Various options will be available for booking tickets, including booking a table of up to 10 people. You can let us know either the names of others you would like to be seated with, or alternatively let us know which year group your child is in and, where possible, we will try to match accordingly.
By purchasing your tickets, you will be part of a fantastic and memorable event, and help to raise money for the benefit of our School.
Climbing Wall
November 2024
Thanks to generous funding from the Bedford Modern School Parents’ Association, the School has upgraded its climbing wall to a bespoke facility that will allow us to offer new opportunities to students.
The £57,000 project means we will be able to run climbing clubs and eventually allow GCSE PE students to take climbing as an option for their studies.
