A Season of Excellence: BMS Athlete Ethan’s National and Regional Running Triumphs 03 March 2026

Ethan, one of our exceptional Year 9 students, continues to impress with his extraordinary impact on both the track and the cross‑country circuit. Already recognised as one of the most exciting young runners in the country, he has demonstrated a level of commitment and performance that truly sets him apart.

This season has been nothing short of outstanding. Ethan has climbed to 2nd place nationally in the 1500m, a remarkable achievement that highlights his speed, focus and competitive spirit. His victory in the U15 Boys 1500m at the National Indoor Championships was a standout moment, showing his ability to rise to the occasion when it matters most.

His cross‑country performances have been equally impressive. Against some of the strongest young athletes in the country – many of them a year older – Ethan has held his own and more, securing an excellent 14th place at the National Cross Country Championships and finishing 2nd among his age group. Dominating the regional scene, he also claimed both the District and County Junior Boys titles, cementing his reputation as an athlete with huge potential.

Ethan’s success is no coincidence. As part of our Elite Sports Performance Programme, he has been working closely with Rob Ramsay, our in‑house specialist Sports Psychologist, to develop the mindset, resilience, and mental strategies needed to excel at the highest level. This partnership has played an important role in supporting Ethan’s growth as a confident, focused and high‑performing young athlete – both in competition and in training.

We’ve proudly followed Ethan’s journey since he joined BMS, and he continues to raise the bar with every event. His dedication, humility, and passion for running make him not only an outstanding sportsman, but also a fantastic role model within our school community.

With major competitions still to come, including the English Schools Cross Country on 14 March in Liverpool, and the UK Inter Counties Cross Country, we are excited to see what Ethan achieves next.
