Strength and Conditioning Coach

Required for October 2023.

Bedford Modern School is an HMC Independent Co-educational Day School located on the outskirts of Bedford. Our facilities are excellent and include a separate Junior School, dedicated Sixth Form building, purpose-built Science Centre opened in 2017 and extensive sports facilities.

We are seeking a Strength and Conditioning Coach to support all aspects of the sport, physical education and physical activity at the school.

You will assist in the delivery of strength and conditioning at the school, along with the management of the Fitness Centre. This is an important role within BMS Sport and in addition to delivery of 1-1 and small group strength and conditioning sessions, you will provide support and education regarding general health, physical literacy and fitness across the school for students and staff.

Applicants should have considerable experience in the provision of strength and conditioning services to athletes to improve performance. A degree in Sports Science (or related area) is an essential qualification for this role. A UKSCA accreditation or ability to obtain the qualification within six months would be advantageous.

Experience working with young sportsmen and women would be an advantage and a positive attitude to young people is essential. This is a practical, hands-on role and if you are a dynamic individual that can motivate and inspire students of all ages and all abilities, we would welcome an application from you.

This is a term time only role for 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The ability to coach a sport would also be advantageous and could potentially offer more hours.

Should you have any questions regarding the role, please contact Mr Ben Kirkpatrick, Director of Sport and Fitness (bkirkpatrick@bedmod.co.uk) for an informal discussion.

We welcome applications from all parts of our community as we aspire to attract employees that match the social and cultural diversity of our student intake.
