Sixth Form Learning Adviser

Bedford Modern School is an HMC Independent Co-educational Day School located on the outskirts of Bedford. Our facilities are excellent and include a separate Junior School, dedicated Sixth Form building, purpose-built Science Centre opened in 2017 and extensive sports facilities.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and suitably experienced Learning Adviser to join our friendly Sixth Form team. You will be jointly responsible for the operation of the Sixth Form Study Centre, provide a high level of support to individual students and help foster and maintain a culture of learning amongst our older students.

Ideally applicants will have experience in an educational setting and of supporting students possibly as a Teacher, Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant coupled with an A level standard of education and relevant teaching qualification.

You will have excellent oral and written communication skills and enjoy supporting young adults at this important point in their education. The ability to be empathetic and firm but fair when dealing with young adults at varying stages of maturity is essential.

The post will be 31.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.30am to 3.15pm term-time plus five additional days by arrangement to include GCSE and A Level pre-results and results day.
