£15,218 per annum (Full time equivalent of £22,126 per annum)

Bedford Modern School (BMS) is an outstanding HMC independent co-educational day school for students aged 7-18. Our community is a friendly, happy and supportive one and all of the 350 staff members, spanning both teaching and non-teaching roles, help to make BMS a very special place to work.

We are looking to appoint a suitably qualified and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant within our Junior School to support children and assist teaching staff in teaching and learning activities across the Key Stage 2 age range, up to and including Year 6.

Applicants must have experience of working with and supporting children or young people, excellent communication skills, the ability to promote positive values, attitudes and behaviours and an awareness of the needs of children across a variety of differing ages.

The post will be for 33 hours per week to be worked Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 8.30am – 4pm and Wednesday 8am – 4pm, with an hour unpaid break, term time only. There may be an opportunity to work additional hours to supervise the before or after school care provision.

In return, we can offer a friendly and supportive working environment, CPD opportunities available through our membership of the Harpur Trust, the option to be part of a private healthcare scheme, a generous pension scheme, free lunches (in term time) and free parking.

We encourage applications from all communities as we want to have a workforce that reflects the social, cultural and ethnic diversity of our students.
