Bedford Modern School is an HMC Independent Co-educational Day School located on the outskirts of Bedford. Our facilities are excellent and include a separate Junior School, dedicated Sixth Form building and extensive sports facilities. We offer a premium education, with a wide and varied curriculum, where the intellectual needs of each pupil is given priority.

We are looking for an experienced and CIPD-qualified HR professional to manage a customer focused operational HR Service to the school.

Reporting to the Director of Finance and Operations and working in collaboration with the wider Harpur Trust HR Team, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting staff across the whole of the employee lifecycle, providing advice and guidance, developing best practice and ensuring statutory and regulatory compliance.

As the HR Manager, you will play a pivotal role in delivering a professional, high-quality HR service to the school, working closely with senior leaders to ensure our People Strategy aligns with both the school and the Harpur Trust.

You will be able to demonstrate strong technical HR knowledge, excellent communication skills, and will have significant experience in an HR generalist role, ideally within an education setting or a similar fast paced environment.
