Junior School Head’s Blog 11 June 2019

It was wonderful to welcome so many new children and families to BMS last Tuesday evening.  The event had a lovely atmosphere and I would like to thank all those parents who gave up their time to come in and chat to new parents in addition to the pupils who demonstrated our uniform and played beforehand.

Another week was ended with a class assembly, this time from 3ACS.  Their theme was World Environment Day and through a news programme, complete with reporters interviewing Super Heroes, we learnt about how much money we spend on energy at BMS and how we can do things to reduce this.  Very well done, 3ACS, Miss Baldwin and Mrs Westbrook.  What a treat!

I hope that all the children who have entered the Music Prizes this year have been practising hard over the half term week as this Tuesday is their chance to demonstrate their talents.  Good luck to everyone taking part.

On Tuesday 11 June in the evening, the children and parents in Year 6 will be attending their Senior School Information Evening where they will find out a bit more about what to expect when they move up into Year 7 next year.  I hope they have an enjoyable evening and look forward to the next stage of their education.

On Wednesday 12 June we will be waving off Year 4 as they journey to Burwell House for their three day residential.  I would like to thank all of the staff for taking time out of their busy lives to enable this trip to take place.  I am sure that the children will reward them by throwing themselves wholeheartedly into all of the activities, thus returning home tired and happy on Friday afternoon.

Fingers crossed the weather improves a little……
