Junior School Head’s Blog 03 February 2020

I was thrilled to be entertained by our musicians last week at their concert.  It always amazes me that they reach such a high standard of performance for children so young.  Well done to all who were involved and also to Mr Bishop who is responsible for driving Music forward in the Junior School and the support he received from Mrs Judge and Mrs Leigh.

Our Assembly was taken by 5MJF last week and they presented the school with their theme which was Myths and Legends with a particularly great rendition of Theseus and the Minotaur.  Lovely clear voices were heard right from the back – very well done, 5MJF and Mrs Fox!

Wednesday 05 February marks a challenging day for some of our strongest mathematicians.  Building on last year’s success, the first round of this year’s Primary Maths Challenge was navigated by five children who have progressed through to the bonus round.  They now individually have the task of tackling some very tricky questions once again.  These are often very difficult indeed but I am sure they will do us proud.

There are a large number of fixtures planned for next week so please keep an eye on the SOCS system and check regularly for details.  Good luck to all the teams playing and representing the school – they always do us proud!

And finally a reminder that this week the Charities Club will be selling raffle tickets in aid of our chosen charity for this year, Bedford and District Cerebral Palsy Society.  Please encourage your children to take part and perhaps even earn some pennies to buy these by doing some chores at home.
