Celebrating another year of outstanding A Level Results 14 August 2025

We are immensely proud of our students’ exceptional achievements in this year’s A Level examinations. Their hard work, determination, and dedication have resulted in outstanding success across the board.

Almost half of grades achieved were A*-A, with an impressive 77% at grade A*-B and 29% of students securing three A grades or better. Among the standout successes, two of our students, Afsheen and Zendin each achieved a remarkable clean sweep of four A*s. They will now go on to study Medicine at the University of Cambridge and Physics at University College London respectively. This year also sees a notable eight students securing highly competitive places to study medicine.

“I’m so grateful for the support provided by teachers and my family and for all the opportunities I’ve had here at BMS.” – Molly, going on to study Biochemisty at the University of Birmingham.

“A stand-out memory for me would probably be sport, especially since I have done a lot of rowing; also all the events I’ve got to go to and the people I’ve formed friendships with that will last forever.” – James, going on to do an apprenticeship in commercial property surveying.

“I think without my teachers and friends here I wouldn’t have been able to achieve such amazing results, and throughout this whole journey they’ve just been incredible.” – Sukhi, going on to study Human Sciences at Oxford.

“The leadership opportunities I’ve been offered have really allowed me to step up here at BMS.” – Phoebe, going on to study Design at Cambridge.

“BMS has really helped me shape the person I am now as well as helping me achieve academically.” – Maya, going on to study midwifery at the University of Leeds.

Our Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) results were equally outstanding, with 57% of students achieving the top A* grade. EPQs are optional independent self-study qualifications with over a third of the year group opting to take this highly regarded qualification.

“I had a lot of support from my teachers during my EPQ and it was a really good experience.”Paimaan, going on to study Medicine at Imperial College London.

The breadth and diversity of our students’ next steps is a real point of pride for us. Many are taking up university places overseas, including the University of British Columbia in Canada, Chapman University in Los Angeles, and Long Island University in New York. Others have secured highly sought after degree apprenticeships with leading blue-chip organisations.

Headmaster David Payne said: “I am so proud and pleased for our students receiving their results today. They should take great pride in their achievements as they move forward into the next exciting chapter of their lives. They are a true embodiment of the rounded education that Bedford Modern School provides, and we wish them every success for the future.”

We had the opportunity to speak to some of our Year 13 students as they collected their results and reflected on their time here at Bedford Modern School.
