Teacher of Mathematics (Maternity cover)

Required from February 2024

Bedford Modern School (BMS) is an outstanding HMC independent co-educational day school for students aged 7-18. Our community is a friendly, happy and supportive one and all of the 350 staff members, spanning both teaching and non-teaching roles, help to make BMS a very special place to work.

The school offers a premium education, with a wide and varied curriculum, that is responsive to the needs of students and parents, where the intellectual needs of each student is given priority.

We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and inspirational Teacher of Mathematics to cover a period of maternity leave within our Senior School. There is a possibility that there may be a permanent opportunity should there be sufficient demand within the school.

We are looking to appoint a committed and suitably qualified graduate to teach Mathematics from Year 7 to A level, ideally including Further Mathematics. The successful candidate will be an excellent classroom practitioner, comfortable using the latest technology, possess a passion for Maths and an appreciation of the value that comes from being actively involved in departmental trips, competitions and enrichment activities.

You will have a genuine interest in delivering positive outcomes for young people and be willing to contribute to the extensive co-curricular life of both the Maths Faculty and the wider school.

We warmly welcome applications from experienced teachers and NQTs, offering a supportive, caring programme to those starting out on their teaching journey.

In return, we can offer an excellent working environment, 35 term-time weeks, a salary range which is competitive and above the national teachers’ pay scales, the option to be part of a medical insurance scheme and generous fee remission (subject to availability and entrance requirements).
