Senior Groundsperson

£28,000 – £30k,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Bedford Modern School (BMS) is an outstanding HMC independent co-educational day school for students aged 7-18. Our community is a friendly, happy and supportive one and all of the 350 staff members, spanning both teaching and non-teaching roles, help to make BMS a very special place to work.

This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated and hardworking person to join our Estates team to maintain and develop natural and artificial play surfaces and plantings across our 40-acre site. You should also have a good working knowledge of health and safety relevant to grounds maintenance, including noise and vibration legislation and management systems and be able to communicate effectively with a range of internal and external clients.

In return, we can offer a competitive salary, a friendly and supportive working environment, the option to be part of a private healthcare scheme, a generous pension scheme, training opportunities through our membership of the Harpur Trust and free lunches (in term time).

This is a full-time post, working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 7.30am – 4pm plus 10 Saturdays by rotation to meet the needs of the school.

We welcome applications from all parts of our community as we aspire to attract staff that matches the social and cultural diversity of our student intake.
