GCSE Results 2024 22 August 2024

Year 11 students at BMS are celebrating today as they receive GCSE results which are as impressive as those achieved pre-pandemic. Almost two thirds of all grades were marked 9, 8 or 7 with 97% overall ranked 9-4, and more than 80% at a grade 6 or higher.

Three students attained a clean sweep of grade 9s in all ten subjects they sat and two of them, Temilade and Aleksi, also achieved a 9 in Further Mathematics while Isabel received an A* in her Higher Project Qualification (HPQ).

Clearly thrilled with her results, Temilade said: “I am in shock, but I’m so delighted. I really wasn’t expecting to achieve all 9s! The teachers here at BMS are amazing and I couldn’t have done it without them. I am now planning to take A Levels in Maths, English Literature, Psychology and History.”

Aleksi was equally pleased with his 11 grade 9s and commented: “I am happy with my achievement and that the work I put in has paid off. BMS certainly gives you the opportunity to excel. I will now study Maths, Spanish, German and English Literature A Levels.”

Headmaster, David Payne, added: “The students receiving their results today are a year group that has faced unparalleled disruption to their education with the early years of their transition to the Senior School significantly affected by the pandemic. Despite this, it is a strong set of grades with some outstanding individual performances. We are enormously proud of the determination and resilience that they have displayed, and their results today are well deserved. They have had fantastic support from their teachers, collectively and individually, and I would like to thank the staff for all they have done. I look forward to welcoming so many of them back shortly to begin their A Levels.”
