Bedford Modern School Celebrates Outstanding A Level Success 13 August 2026
Bedford Modern School is celebrating another year of outstanding A Level results, with students achieving exceptional outcomes that reflect their talent, determination and ambition.
The Class of 2026 has continued the School’s long-standing tradition of academic excellence, achieving impressive results across a broad range of subjects. This year, 22% of all grades were awarded at A*, while 52% were awarded at A*-A and 84% at A*-B.
Among the cohort’s many notable achievements, 40% of students secured three A grades or above, demonstrating the strength and depth of academic performance across the year group. At the very highest level, two students achieved an exceptional four A* grades, while nine students secured three A* grades or better.
The majority of Bedford Modern School students will now progress to higher education, with destinations including Oxford and Cambridge, alongside a wide range of Russell Group universities and other leading institutions across the UK and overseas. Students will go on to study subjects spanning Medicine, Engineering, Law, Economics, Physics and Music, reflecting the breadth of talent and ambition within the cohort.
Alongside these outstanding university destinations, Bedford Modern School is also celebrating the achievements of six students who have secured highly competitive apprenticeship opportunities with leading employers. These successes highlight the diverse pathways available to BMS students and the School’s commitment to supporting individual aspirations, whether through higher education, degree apprenticeships or direct entry into professional careers.
These results are testament not only to the hard work and perseverance of the students themselves, but also to the dedication of staff, the support of families and the collaborative culture that defines life at Bedford Modern School.
