IT Support Engineer

Required to work as part of our ICT Services team, the successful candidate will work closely with other technicians/engineers to ensure that ICT facilities and Systems are optimally maintained across both the School and Harpur Trust Office.

The successful applicant will have responsibility for supervising the IT Support Technicians and ensuring the smooth running of the ICT Service Desk, providing first and second line technical support for pupils, School and Harpur Trust Staff, dealing with the effective routing of helpdesk calls, e-mails, queries/requests logged via the Helpdesk system.

You will be able to take ownership of issues by carrying out problem analysis to implement temporary or permanent fixes with the aim of restoring service to the users as soon as possible; escalating server related incidents to Systems Engineers where necessary.

Applicants must be highly customer focused, proactive, and motivated in approach, have an adaptable attitude to change, with Relevant Microsoft or Industry recognised qualification(s) in the support of Computer Desktops and/or Server or Network Infrastructure, at least 2 Year’s occupational experience in an ICT support role and experience of supporting users on School or business networks.

A good working knowledge of desktop computer, laptop, smart phone/tablet hardware devices and configuration, network and computer security concepts and troubleshooting is essential.
