Bedford Modern School currently employs more than 250 teaching and support staff. All staff who join BMS are encouraged to progress further through training and personal development.
We offer teachers the opportunity to join the Teachers’ Pension Scheme as well as a salary scheme which is above the national teachers’ scale. Support staff also have an opportunity to join The Harpur Trust’s stakeholder pension scheme.
A large number of our support staff are employed on a full time basis, but we also offer a number of contracts which are term time only or which demand a limited amount of input during holiday periods.
As part of our recruitment process, we carry out Disclosure and Barring Service checks on all new staff who commence work at BMS as well as Prohibition checks for teaching staff and managers.
