Life after BMS
Beyond BMS
We are committed to helping every student make informed, ambitious choices about their future. Whether their next step is university, a degree apprenticeship, further training or employment, our tailored careers programme equips students with the knowledge, skills and confidence to succeed.
From Year 7 onwards, students benefit from a progressive programme of careers education, employer engagement, guidance and enrichment opportunities. Through workshops, careers events, visiting speakers, workplace encounters and one-to-one guidance, students gain valuable insights into a wide range of pathways and professions.
Personalised guidance
Every student has access to impartial, expert careers advice, helping them explore their strengths, interests and aspirations. We work closely with students and families to support decision-making at key transition points, including GCSE, post-16 and post-18 choices.
University, apprenticeships and beyond
Our dedicated support helps students navigate a broad range of post-18 opportunities, including:
- UK and international university applications
- Degree apprenticeships and higher apprenticeships
- Employment and training pathways
- Competitive applications, including medicine, law and Oxbridge
- Work experience and employer networking opportunities
Students in Years 9-13 also have access to Unifrog, a comprehensive online platform that enables them to explore courses, careers and destinations, track skills development and plan their future pathways.
Recognised excellence
Our careers programme is underpinned by the Gatsby Benchmarks and national best practice. We are proud to hold the Quality in Careers Standard, recognising the high quality of careers education, information, advice and guidance provided to our students.
Through a culture of aspiration, opportunity and personalised support, we ensure every student is prepared to take their next steps with confidence.
