Active, engaged and enjoying sport

Sport is an important part of life at Bedford Modern Junior School, helping children develop confidence, teamwork, resilience and a lifelong enjoyment of physical activity.

Discovering a love of sport

Alongside regular PE lessons, students benefit from year-round swimming, developing both confidence and competence in the water from an early age. Across the year, children experience a variety of sports including touch rugby, cricket, hockey and athletics, ensuring they have opportunities to develop new skills and discover activities they enjoy.

Sport for everyone

Beyond the curriculum, a wide range of clubs and activities run before school, at lunchtime and after school, providing opportunities for students to participate, compete and develop their talents. Whether representing the School, learning a new sport or simply enjoying being active with friends, every child is encouraged to get involved.

Our aim is simple: to help students develop a positive relationship with sport and physical activity while building the confidence, character and teamwork skills that will benefit them throughout their lives.

Every child is encouraged to participate, improve and enjoy the journey.
