Junior School Head’s Blog 27 January 2020

Congratulations must go to all the performers who took part in the Performing Arts Showcase last Thursday evening. What a super event it was, demonstrating talent across all age groups in both Speech and Drama and Dance.  Very well done to everyone, including the staff who work with the children all year round.

I am noticing a distinct air of hard work as I make my way around school at the moment and it will be lovely to have the chance to focus on this at this time of year. I am also delighted to see such large numbers of children taking part in all the co-curricular activities that are on offer this term.

Wednesday 29 January will see our first Junior School Music Concert of the year at 7pm in the Christopher Fry Hall. If you think your child is taking part but you have not received any information about the event, please contact the Junior School office. I look forward, as ever, to an evening of musical entertainment.

On Thursday 30 January it will be our second Non-Uniform Day, for those children who have any uniform points left.   This is taking place on a Thursday on this occasion to enable those in Years 3 and 4 the opportunity to enjoy wearing mufti for the full day.

And finally, the Charities Club are holding a raffle to raise money for BDCPS and they will be selling tickets from Monday 3 to Friday 7 February during morning breaks at the round table. Tickets are five for £1, or 25p each. I am sure the children would like to earn some money by doing chores at home so that they can take part!  The prizes are:

First prize – large teddy

Second prize – basket of stationary items and squishies

Third prize – small teddy

Fourth prize – snake puzzle and a note book.
