Another Outstanding Year of GCSE Success at BMS 20 August 2026
BMS is celebrating another year of exceptional GCSE results – some of their best ever – with students achieving an outstanding set of outcomes that reflect their hard work, determination and commitment throughout their studies. The results continue the School’s long-standing tradition of academic excellence, underpinned by a culture that combines high expectations with outstanding pastoral support.
This year’s results saw 26% of all grades awarded at Grade 9, the highest grade possible, while 49% of all grades were Grade 9 or 8. An impressive 88% of grades were awarded at Grade 9 to 6, demonstrating the strength and depth of achievement across the year group.
The results include some particularly notable individual accomplishments. One student achieved an extraordinary 11 Grade 9s, alongside an A* in their Higher Project Qualification (HPQ). A further five students secured 10 Grade 9s, placing them amongst the highest-achieving GCSE candidates in the country.
Headmaster Mr Payne praised the students for their efforts and achievements:
“This cohort of students has done exceptionally well, and we are all so pleased and proud of them. Their results are the culmination of years of hard work, resilience and determination, and they should take great pride in all that they have achieved.
These outcomes are not only a reflection of the students’ commitment, but also of the support they have received from their families and the dedication of our teaching and support staff. Together, they embody the strength of the BMS community and our shared commitment to helping every student flourish.

While the headline figures are impressive, BMS is equally proud of the progress and personal achievements of all students across the cohort. The results reflect the School’s commitment to providing an environment in which every student is encouraged to fulfil their potential and develop the confidence, skills and ambition needed for future success.
