Supporting BMS

BMS Foundation Fund

The Foundation Fund enables BMS to direct donations to areas of greatest need, ensuring your contribution can make an impact where it is needed most

Investing in the Future

By supporting this fund, donors provide the School with the flexibility to respond to emerging priorities, enhance facilities, invest in new opportunities, and enrich the educational experience of current and future students.

Gifts to the Foundation Fund help support projects and developments as needs arise, allowing BMS to continue delivering an outstanding all-round education. Recent examples of initiatives made possible through generous donations include our purpose-built Science Centre and the 2019 refurbishment of the Cricket Pavilion, both of which continue to benefit generations of pupils.

Bursary fund

We believe that a Bedford Modern education should be accessible to talented young people, regardless of financial circumstances. Our Bursary Fund enables us to provide means-tested financial support to families who might otherwise be unable to consider, or continue, an education at BMS.

Available for students joining the School from Year 7 onwards, bursaries offer life-changing opportunities to young people with exceptional potential, whether academically, in the creative arts, or in sport. Awards are assessed according to both a student’s achievement and potential, alongside their family’s financial circumstances, helping more students benefit from all that a BMS education has to offer.

Leave a legacy

Every gift to the Foundation is very much appreciated, no matter what the amount and really does make a difference. You can make single or regular gifts and if you are a UK tax payer at least 25% can be added at no extra cost to you.

Leave a legacy

Remembering BMS in your will

Remembering BMS in your will enables you to play your part in the school’s future. A legacy gift is an excellent way to support the school whilst also potentially reducing the tax burden on the other beneficiaries of your estate.

Our ‘thank you’ campaign, which has appeared in recent editions of Eagle News, has invited supporters of the school who have already taken this step to notify us of their decision so that we can thank them in their lifetimes.

If you would like to consider making a bequest to the school, please fill out the online form below and we will write to you with further guidance on how to remember BMS in your will. All legators receive special invitations to events.
