Headmaster’s Blog

Happy New Year to all and I hope that you enjoyed a restful break. I have enjoyed welcoming back students and staff to what is a short but busy term.

In particular it is a crucial term for those that are sitting public examinations and our Year 11 students started their trial examinations this week. Popping into their Common Room yesterday they seemed to be taking this in their stride and assured me that they had managed their holiday to ensure the correct balance between rest and revision! I am conscious that examinations can create anxiety for students who must communicate any concerns so that they can be reassured and supported.

Despite the weather we made a successful start to the term last weekend with netball and football and I am very much looking forward to a competitive season for all of our teams. This weekend we have a large number of fixtures along with the Star Head and West Side Story rehearsals. In addition to this I am looking forward to welcoming prospective students and parents to the first of our assessment days. Another busy BMS weekend!
