Sixth Form Subjects

Bedford Modern is an academic school where students see the Sixth Form as a stepping stone to their first choice university. Teaching groups are kept deliberately small, so there is a good deal of individual attention and opportunity for you to make a contribution to
lessons. Study is taken seriously. You will be expected to work hard, to think for yourself and to pursue academic excellence with determination and self-discipline.

Students at BMS are highly motivated - that is the key to their success. In Year 12 you will study 4 AS levels and it is anticipated that you will continue with 3 or all 4 of these to A2 level in Year 13.

The Sixth Form curriculum offers the challenge of not only greater breadth but crucially greater depth via the Advanced Extension Awards whether they remain as discrete successors to STEP and Special Papers or are integrated into the pattern of A2 assessment. Our record of successful Oxbridge and Russell Group applications continues to impress.
