Co-curricular
BMS has an enviably high reputation as a centre of sporting and cultural excellence.
Opportunities in both sport and the arts feature a broad range of choice and, for those who wish it, a very high standard of achievement. Elite sports teams train three or four or even more times a week and all Sixth Formers can opt for their choice of games activity on Wednesday afternoons. For those who prefer it, the School operates a Community Service Unit at that time.
Sporting, artistic, dramatic and musical activities operate on both School and House tiers. School Concerts and Plays are of a very high standard. The inter-House Music and Drama competitions involve all those who wish to take part as both performers and producers.
There is a full School Council and a separate Sixth Form Council which meet regularly to discuss school issues and make recommendations to the Headmaster. In the course of Year 12, students may apply to be members of the Monitorial Team that looks after numerous aspects of day to day school life.
The four Sections of the CCF, the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme as well as the numerous Sports teams provide unrivalled arenas for the development of personal effectiveness and leadership skills.
