Outreach

Outreach is about the awareness of local, national and international community needs and our desire to make a difference.  It has many facets, all of which draw inspiration from our outreach philosophy.

Philosophy
Bedford Modern School wishes to provide an education for life, involving spiritual and moral values to complement our pursuit of academic excellence. This is built on a desire to uphold and promote within our community:

• The inherent value of human beings
• The spirit of tolerance, compassion and understanding for others
• The ideals of justice and reason

We firmly believe in the equality of all its students, as well as those outside its sphere of influence, of whatever race, colour or creed.

We embrace the personal development of every student through teamwork as well as the encouragement of individual endeavour as each promots his/her responsibility to others in the world.

We aim to achieve a balance between the academic and social life of the School, but recognise also the need for balance between serving the School community and the community at large in the locality, nationally and globally.

As a school, we revel in aiming to become fully human, both in our attitude within our own community and those outside.

We seek to promote the integrity of our students in a genuine belief in seeking to help others.
