Rose win BMS House Music Competition
February 08th, 2010

The Bedford Modern School House Music Competition 2010 took place on Friday 5th February at 7.00pm in the Howard Hall.
This was a House event in which Senior School students battled it out to become House Music champions!  A large number of staff and students contributed to a very successful and enjoyable event, which raised money towards the Haiti Earthquake Appeal, World Challenge, and the next School Football Tour.

Representatives from each House were required to prepare a 15 minute performance, introduced by a compere, containing three items:-
1.  A solo or duet item (with or without accompaniment)
2.  A small group item (rock band / jazz band etc)
3.  A large group item (broad participation)

Each House performed their material in front of an audience and a guest judge, competing for The House Rock Trophy.  The "House Rock" was recovered by Sixth Form students during a geography field trip in 2001 whilst exploring the outwash underneath the Bossons glacier on the slopes of Mont Blanc in the Chamonix Valley.  The students had a flash of genius, they could foresee it mounted on marble and used as a trophy for House Music.  They persuaded Mr Chadwick to carry it all the way back to BMS in his rucksack!
