The Humanities Faculty comprises the Geography, History and Religious Studies Departments. Each of the subjects retains its individual identity but all three can be seen as a unified whole due to their many similarities.

Humanities courses help students develop basic critical abilities and academic skills. They help students to organize their thoughts and ideas, and to communicate them clearly and effectively. Students learn to reason and to analyze, to question and to argue, and to respond to the world imaginatively and creatively.

Our curriculum links in with that of the Junior School and carries the students forward into the Sixth Form and beyond. Our aim is to provide learning skills which will allow our students to work independently, as well as the means to achieve their goals in further education. The Faculty monitors students closely across the three disciplines throughout their time at the school in order to give each individual realistic targets to ensure rapid progress at every stage in their learning experience.

Each subject is lead by an enthusiastic specialist who is in control of curriculum matters within their own discipline. The Heads of Department work in partnership with the Head of Faculty and other areas of the school to ensure a rounded education to allow the students to achieve their potential.
