Junior School Head Blog week commencing 20 February

Congratulations must go to all the children for their involvement in the activities directly before half-term.

House Music lived up to its expectations and was a day full of excitement, colour and entertainment.  All of our choirs returned in the evening to take part in a concert involving The Songmen and it was another chance for them to show their singing talents. http://www.bedmod.co.uk/en/The Songmen at BMS

On Thursday evening, several Junior School children were involved in the Dance Showcase and once again they displayed yet more talent in yet another different arena.

Unfortunately, we had to postpone our annual Steeplechase on the last day of half-term courtesy of the snow, but we already have it scheduled for Friday 9 March.

I do hope that you all had a very restful half-term week and I trust that the children are ready for return to their studies refreshed.  There are several netball, football and hockey fixtures throughout the week so please encourage them to check the Sports' notice boards regularly.  Good luck, as always, to all involved.

On Thursday, we will be visited by the Young Shakespeare theatre  group to take our Year 6 children through their paces - if previous years are anything to go by, this will prove to be a great morning.

Finally, we are thrilled to be part of the BMS Bookathon.  This is a whole school initiative asking us to donate any books suitable for 5-15 year olds for an excellent cause.  I, myself, have had great fun flicking through several old favourites over the break as I am sure you have too.  Please send any donations into school with your child so that they can put them in their class donation box.
