Headmaster Blog week ending 29th April

Welcome back to the start of the Summer Term for what will undoubtedly be a busy and intense period, packed full of exciting school productions, concerts, art exhibitions, Artistic Achievement Awards Evening, Sports Awards Evening and, of course, the GCSE, AS and A Level Examinations for Year 11 and Sixth Form students.

Returning to this week, however, our Year 10 Geography pupils will be taking part in a Field Trip on Wednesday 27th April.

Junior School pupils will be marking the Royal Wedding with a celebration of their own this week by participating in a "street party" within the School grounds on the afternoon of Thursday 28th April.

Please remember that, in line with the Government's decision to award an additional Bank Holiday for the Royal Wedding, the School will be closed on Friday 29th April.

Tickets are selling fast for our Classical Showcase Concert on Friday 6th May and also for the School's new stage production of The Wizard of Oz that takes place between Wednesday 18th and Saturday 21st May.  If you haven't already booked tickets, I suggest you contact the Box Office as soon as possible.

On Saturday 7th May, I will be available between 9.00am and 11.00am for you to come and see me, without an appointment, if you have any issues you wish to discuss.  For more information, please contact my Assistant, Mrs Julie Saunders.

Finally, if you are thinking ahead and planning your summer holidays, why not try one of our Holiday Activity Courses that run for five weeks during the summer break and are open to any child between the ages of four and fourteen.  Booking for the summer courses opens on Thursday 28th April and more details can be found on our website.
