Headmaster Blog week ending 28th January

On Monday 24th January, Junior and Senior School pupils will perform in a Tea-Time Concert in the Music School; this is always an enjoyable event to attend and I would encourage parents to put future Tea-Time Concert dates in their diaries.

Later in the week, a small group of Year 12 Politics students will be attending Question Time in Cambridge and this is sure to generate interest and spark lively discussion amongst our Sixth Form students.

The forthcoming weekend looks set to be extremely busy for pupils with a Senior Cadet Field Expedition to Yardley Chase taking place.  There is also a rehearsal in School on Saturday for our forthcoming production of Evita.  Tickets for Evita will be available from 1st February and, as ever with BMS productions, tend to sell out very quickly, so please ensure you book your tickets as soon as possible. Interspersed with these activities are a variety of sporting fixtures including Netball, Boys' Hockey and Football matches.

Bedford Modern School also has a strong team competing in the British Schoolboys' Invitation Ski Races to be held in Meiringen, Switzerland, between 30th January and 1st February.  The team includes Year 10 pupil, Oli Chalkley, who has recently joined Ambition Racing, a leading Ski Race Academy based in Bormio, Italy and I wish the BMS squad every success in Meiringen.
