Headmaster Blog week ending 18th February

Old Bedford Modernian (OBM) Daniel Hall who left the School in 2009, spoke to pupils at my Assembly on Monday about his involvement in the School's "Re-building Sri Lanka" (www.rebuildingsrilanka.org.uk) initiative that was set up after the Tsunami in 2004.

A School "In Action Day" takes place at BMS on Thursday 17th February.  This is an ideal opportunity to see us on a normal working day with guided tours available.  Later that evening, the Politics, Philosophy and Economics (PPE) Faculty will be holding its annual Dinner for staff and students, with guest speaker, OBM Francesca Leverkus.

Year 3 pupils are preparing for their Egyptian Day that looks set to be both fun and educational whilst Sixth Form students will be attending a European Youth Parliament trip later this week.

House Netball and Football fixtures take place over the coming days in addition to a Girls' Hockey Tournament and a Boys' Water Polo Tournament followed by Rowing GB Trials in Boston at the weekend.

Our Junior School Steeplechase takes place on Friday whilst Senior School pupils have arranged a Mufti Day where they can make a donation to wear their own clothes whilst also supporting Bedford Hospital, where the medics want to create a sensory garden for Bedford's stroke victims.

Enjoy the Half-Term break when it comes.
