Year 12 Geography students will be involved in a Field Trip this week looking at the "Rebranding" and "Regeneration" of East London including site visits to Canary Wharf, Canning Town and the Olympic site at Stratford where students will be able to visit the London Borough of Newham's "viewing gallery" of the Olympic site.
GCSE Drama Practical Examinations also take place this week together with the second of our Year 11 Parents' Evenings. A fundraising Race Night on Thursday evening looks set to be an enjoyable occasion whilst also raising funds for our forthcoming Rugby Tour to South Africa.
As ever, a full range of sporting fixtures takes place throughout the week including Equestrian, Netball, Football and Hockey matches together with the BMS Boys' Water Polo Team competing in the U18 English Schools' Swimming Association (ESSA) Round 1.
Recently, pupils from Years 8 to 10 attended Cambridge Union for the International Young Debaters Competition. Our Year 12 students James Hutt, James Wainwright, Jasmine Tredget and Hershil Kotak will shortly be travelling to Bury St Edmunds for the Oxford Union Schools' Debating Competition and I wish them every success in the competition.
Finally, what better way to end the week than with Bedford Modern School's own Rock Night where, for one night only, the Howard Hall will be transformed into Bedford's premiere rock venue with pupil bands and soloists from across the School getting the opportunity to make a lot of noise and rock the house!
