Outreach in the Junior School

In the Junior School we like to support charities in a variety of ways and involve all of our pupils, whilst having fun.

We invite people from charitable organisations to speak at our assemblies to raise awareness amongst the children and encourage empathy with those less fortunate than ourselves.

We have raised funds for the following charities in many innovative ways, including cake-bakes, sponsored events, collections and, most recently sponsoring the refurbishment of a classroom in the Mogra School (Kenya).

-  Children in Need

Comic Relief (sponsored walk depicting the 26 Olympic sports)

-  Samaritan's Purse (Christmas Shoebox Appeal)

-  Leukaemia Research (sponsored walk with Ian Botham)

-  Programme money from Christmas Production to local charities

The Junior School also participates in the local community, in the following ways;

-  Inviting local schools to join us in music workshop days and maths
   enrichment days

-  Local schools are able to participate in our Gifted and Talented
   Programme

-  Visit by the Mayor of Bedford

-  Singing at a Home for the elderly at Christmas

-  Hosting a Grandparents Day

-  Collecting food for local hospice and BMS Drop-in Centre at our Harvest
