At A Level the ICT skill set is refined further and the pupils move into the ‘digital Age’ the emphasis is on extending their development skills to a wider audience. We encourage our AS/A2 Level pupils to create a project that in some way supports businesses outside of the school environment. Pupils can work in groups and we have examples of new business website developments, web server generation and deployment and portal designs. The skill set at A Level focuses much more on the Project management and meetings, costing and sign off of project targets all become key components in the final project submission. Many of the pupils find the professional aspect of this project the most challenging and rewarding. This year two pupils have gone on to work in the IT Industry in paid employment prior to starting their University studies. One has gained the employment through the web design work carried out during the A Level Course.
