Business Studies.

Head of Faculty:  Mrs Angela Pollard
Head of Subject:  Mr Richard Smith

Business Studies is part of the Politics, Philosophy and Economics (PPE) Faculty created in September 2008. Business Studies is a Sixth Form only subject and is offered at AS level in Year 12 and A2 level in Year 13. We follow the AQA specification for Business Studies. During each academic year students will sit two examinations and each year counts as 50% of their final grade.

We complement the study of Business Studies with a wider approach involving project work and presentations by the students. This is particularly important to help students develop the confidence and analytical skills to enable them to act as 'business advisers' as required in the exam papers.

Students within the department compete in a number of business related competitions such as the Cranfield University Business Challenge. In addition students will have the chance to attend a conference in Paris as well as other business orientated events

The Department consists of three experienced teachers, one of whom is currently an AQA examiner. The Department also holds membership of all the major Economics and Business Studies institutions.
