Child Case Study 3

Chloe is 13 and goes to Goldington Middle School. She has been coming on the Holiday Courses for 5 years and in that time she has taken part in Survival Adventure Skills, Racket Sports, Multi-Activity, Climbing, Drama, Cookery, Textiles and Technology.

Her favourite activity is Climbing because it is something different that you do not get to do all the time.  She particularly likes being up high and then abseiling down.  "The Instructors are really cool and give really good instructions so you feel safe and have fun.  I love the warm-up activities too".

Chloe enjoys making new friends on the courses as well as meeting up with some old ones and says that lunchtime is a great chance to learn about what everyone else is doing. 

The courses also give Chloe a chance to learn new skills, last summer she enjoyed taking part in Survival Adventure Skills. "It was great fun trying something new that I wouldn't normally get a chance to do" she said.

Chloe thinks that the Holiday Course Brochure is really well set out, with lots of colourful pictures and good descriptions of the courses.  "There are lots of really good courses to choose from, sometimes it is hard to choose what to do; I want to do them all.  When the brochure comes I love looking at the pictures to see if I recognise anyone I was on a course with".

Her favourite things about the Holiday Courses are, trying something new; making friends; having lots of fun and the staff who are really cool.
